How to get involved!

Temple Beth Tikvah offers so many opportunities to volunteer.  Join a committee, organize a collection drive, or help out at a program.  The choice is yours!

Temple Committees:

  • Advocacy & Activism Committee
This committee will explore timely social justice issues through a Jewish lens and determine the best ways for TBT to address them.
  • Adult Education Committee
TBT recognizes the importance of education for our adult congregants and works to provide opportunities for self-improvement, personal growth and continuing Jewish education.
  • Caring Community
The Caring Community assists TBT members during times of illness or loss by creating care packages, delivering food, and offering emotional support.
  • Finance
The Finance Committee makes a detailed estimate of the income and operating expenses for the ensuing year, submits an annual budget for the coming year and supervises the audit or compilation of the accounts of the Congregation.
  • Fundraising Committee
In conjunction with temple staff, the Fundraising Committee coordinates an annual fundraising campaign to assist in supporting temple financial needs.
  • High Holy Day Committee
The High Holy Day Committee assigns service honors, arranges for ushers, assists with the High Holy Day New Year’s Greetings and Memorial Book, determines service times, and coordinates various other High Holy Day responsibilities with the Rabbi and office staff.
  • Membership
The Membership Committee represents a cross section of TBT’s congregation.  Members of this committee work with TBT staff to recruit, welcome and involve TBT members in various programs and events.
  • Men’s Club
Members of the Men’s Club also help to construct the Sukkah and do other projects in and around the synagogue.  We are currently exploring additional opportunities to expand Men’s Club programming.
  • Rabbi Dresner Memorial Library Committee
This committee works to preserve and promote the extensive collection of books formerly owned by Rabbi Emeritus Israel Dresner.  The committee also plans programs around civil rights, inclusion and social impact with community partners and TBT religious school students.
  • Religious School Committee
The Religious School Parent Committee works in concert with our Director of Education to plan special Tikkun Olam events, helps with special holiday celebrations throughout the school year, coordinates family participation in programs, and assists with Religious School fundraisers.
  • Ritual Committee
The Ritual Committee is dedicated to overseeing, maintaining and constantly re-inventing our spiritual life here at TBT in partnership with our Clergy.
  • Social Action Committee
Through acts of kindness and Tikkun Olam, the Social Action Committee works to provide support to the greater Wayne community and surrounding areas through volunteer activities like food distribution, blood drives, pet adoption events, and clothing donations to improve the lives of others.
  • Women of Chai
The Women of Chai’s mission is to connect women with each other through education, spirituality, and programs/events.
