How to get involved!

Temple Beth Tikvah offers so many opportunities to volunteer.  Join a committee, organize a collection drive, or help out at a program.  The choice is yours!

Temple Committees:

  • Women of Chai
The Women of Chai’s mission is to connect women with each other through education, spirituality, and support of Reform Judaism by creating lifelong relationships, and support of the temple from generation to generation (L’dor va dor). Past Women of Chai programs/events include:  Women-led Services, Chocolate Seder, Book Authors and Signings, Temple Beautification, Comedians, Crafting, Personal Organization, Jazz/Music, Cooking, Political Speakers, Women Israeli Soldiers, Support of St. Paul’s Church through Cooking & Serving, and many more.
  • Men’s Club
The Men’s Club at TBT raises money through fun activities such as casino nights and football pools.  Members of the Men’s Club also help construct the Sukkah and do other projects in and around the synagogue.
  • Ritual Committee
The Ritual Committee is a group of inspired people dedicated to overseeing, maintaining and constantly re-inventing our spiritual life here at TBT.  A multigenerational collaboration of individuals with their fingers on the pulse of congregational wants, needs and desires.  A vibrant blend of traditional and progressive perspectives always looking to push the bounds of complacency with simple prayer to find ways to motivate and drive our passions in our relationship with each other, our relationship with God and our place in the Wayne Jewish Community.  A temple cannot exist without devout spirituality.  Come join our ritual committee to help chart our course as we navigate the spiritual waters, combining a deep respect for our traditions and our past, a holy and joyous enthusiasm for our present, and an unwavering belief in our sacred legacy and our temple’s future.
  • Religious School Committee
The Religious School Parent Committee plans special Tikkun Olam events, helps with special holiday celebrations throughout the school year, coordinates family participation in programs, and assists with Religious School fundraisers such as the Passover Candy Sale.  Join us in making a difference in your child’s Religious School education by creating opportunities for enhanced learning experiences!
  • Caring Community
The Caring Community assists TBT members during times of illness or loss by creating care packages, delivering food, and offering emotional support.
  • Rabbi Dresner Memorial Library Committee
This committee works to preserve and promote the extensive collection of books formerly owned by Rabbi Emeritus Israel Dresner.  The committee also plans programs around civil rights, inclusion and social impact with community partners and TBT religious school students.
  • Social Action Committee
Through acts of kindness and Tikkun Olam, the Social Action Committee works to provide support to the greater Wayne community and surrounding areas through volunteer activities like food distribution, blood drives, pet adoption events, and clothing donations to improve the lives of others.
