TEMPLE BETH TIKVAH

shaareinu is tbt’s Accessibility initiative

At Temple Beth Tikvah, we believe that everyone should be able to fully participate in Jewish life, feel welcome in our community, and experience a true sense of belonging. That’s why we’re launching a new Accessibility Initiative. Our goal is make TBT a place where people of all abilities can worship, learn, celebrate, connect, and contribute with greater ease and confidence.

Accessibility is more than ramps, doorways, or accommodations. It’s about listening, removing barriers, and creating a community where everyone can bring their whole selves. As we move forward, we’ll be looking at our building, programs, communications, and practices through an accessibility lens and, most importantly, listening to the people who know these needs best.

This is an ongoing journey. We are committed to learning, improving, providing additional gateways for people to fully participate, and making meaningful changes along the way. Contact the MiSheBerach Committee Chair.

So far, we:

Renovated our Youth Lounge to be child-safe for our youngest members.

Built a handicap accessible restroom.

Placed a reading stand in our Sanctuary to allow people with physical limitations to fully participate in ritual.

Removed the front row of pews for people with wheelchairs or walkers.

Purchased better hearing devices and large print prayer books.

Improved livestreaming for people who need to connect with us from home.
